Peet’s Coffee & Tea plans to open a third Hawaii location, this one in new retail space in Kailua being developed by Kaneohe Ranch.
Peet’s will take over the 648-square-foot space at 143 Hekili St. in November for the interior buildout, and plans to open in early 2014, Kaneohe Ranch said in a statement.
“Kailua is the No. 1 area we’ve wanted to get into for years,” Pastron said in a statement. “This will be the first store in Hawaii where we are really part of a community. We also believe that the Kailua customers will appreciate the high level of artisan products we have to offer.”
The Kailua store will also sell breakfast sandwiches, and artisan pastries created exclusively for Peet’s Coffee & Tea Hawaii.
“Kailua shoppers value quality, and this charming caffeine oasis will offer the service and high-quality products local residents appreciate – making Peet’s Coffee & Tea another great hangout for Kailua residents,” Kimo Steinwascher, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Kaneohe Ranch, said in a statement.
Other tenants planning to move into 143 Hekili St. include Crepes No Ka Oi, which is currently located in an older building on Hekili Street, and the swimwear boutique Splash! Hawaii, which is also opening a store in the Kamehameha Schools redevelopment in Haleiwa town on Oahu’s North Shore.
The 143 Hekili development is part of the commercial lands in Kailua’s town center that Kaneohe Ranch recently put on the market for sale.
