KAILUA – Splash! Hawaii, one of the Islands’ premier swimwear boutiques, is opening shop early next year in Kailua Town. The new store will be about 740 square feet and located at 143 Hekili St., a building currently under renovation by Kaneohe Ranch.
The Kailua Splash! Hawaii will distinguish itself from the current Ala Moana location by focusing on footwear and beach accessories. There will also be a continued effort to expand relationships with more local brands as its expansion moves into Kailua and on to Haleiwa later next year. Locals and visitors alike have long been Splash! Hawaii’s core clientele, which makes Kailua a prime location for its new concept store.
Splash! Hawaii will begin construction inside the store space when it is turned over to them by Kaneohe Ranch, hopefully in November. An exact opening date has not been set, but the store is anticipated to be ready for customers in early January 2014.
Kimo Steinwascher, Kaneohe Ranch executive vice president and chief operating officer, expects Splash! Hawaii will do well in Kailua.
“Splash! Hawaii is a local company that has been around for more than 30 years and we look forward to them making Kailua their new home,” Steinwascher said. “Its array of beachwear merchandise will be appealing to shoppers of this beachside community.”
Splash! Hawaii will occupy Suite 140 at the 143 Hekili St. Kaneohe Ranch previously announced that other building tenants will include Peet’s Coffee & Tea and Crepes No Ka ‘Oi.
Kaneohe Ranch manages the real estate owned by the family business entities of Harold K.L. Castle and Alice H. Castle and their nonprofit charitable foundation, the Harold K.L. Castle Foundation. The portfolio consists of major landholdings in Kailua as well as other properties on Oahu and the U.S. mainland. The Kailua properties include commercial, retail, office, industrial and residential leasehold parcels.
